Meet the Team!

Even though I’m a sole trader, I like to think of this as a team effort, because when you work with me, we work together. This page is a chance for you to get to know the person behind Guiding Hands SC and understand a little more about how I support people through their NDIS journey.

Tamara Tye

Director & Support Coordinator

Hi, I’m Tamara, and I’m the person you’ll be working with when you choose Guiding Hands SC. I started this business because I believe every NDIS participant deserves to feel supported, heard, and confident when using their plan. I know how overwhelming and confusing the system can feel, and my goal is to make things clearer, easier, and less stressful for you.

As a Support Coordinator, my role is to walk beside you, not in front, not behind, but alongside - helping you understand your plan, connect with the right providers, and get the most out of your funding. I’m here to make sure your plan works for your life, not the other way around.

I bring experience in disability services, and I combine that with a genuine passion for supporting people. To me, this work isn’t just about ticking boxes or paperwork;  it’s about building trust, building confidence, and making sure you feel supported every step of the way.

My Approach

When you work with me, you can expect:

  • Clear communication: I’ll always explain things in simple, everyday language so you feel confident about what’s happening.

  • Reliability: I’ll follow through, keep things organised, and make sure you’re never left wondering what’s next.

  • Respect and understanding: I value your choices and your voice. It’s your plan, and you’re in control. My role is to support you in a way that works best for you.

  • Problem-solving: If something tricky or unexpected comes up, I’ll step in to help you work through it and find solutions.

A Bit About Me

Outside of my work as a Support Coordinator, I’m just Tamara. I enjoy spending time with family, going for walks, or doing some of my favourite hobbies which is crafting and gaming. Sharing a bit of myself helps me connect with people in a down-to-earth and honest way.

I know that inviting someone into your NDIS journey is a big step, and I don’t take that lightly. That’s why I work hard to build strong, supportive relationships with the people I work with, relationships built on trust, respect, and understanding.

What You Can Expect Working With Me

When you choose Guiding Hands SC, you’re not just getting someone who makes phone calls or fills out forms (though I do plenty of that too!). You’re getting someone who will:

  • Take the time to understand your unique situation.

  • Listen when things feel confusing or stressful.

  • Help you navigate the NDIS in a way that feels easier and clearer.

  • Support you through changes, reviews, and challenges.

  • Celebrate your wins and progress with you.

At the end of the day, my role is about more than services. It’s about making sure you feel supported, organised, and confident to live the life you want, with a plan that truly works for you. Even though I’m technically a “team of one,” I’ll always be on your side, working with you as part of your team.
